Gearing Up!!!

Well Happy New Year… 2016 is already here!!!

Every January 1st (or so) I spend some time reflecting on the events of the previous year and set goals for the new year. This year will prove to be unlike any other. I’m gearing up for career challenges, family milestones, and personal accomplishments. The best thing about all of this is that God has had His hand in it the whole time. Just in the last couple of weeks of 2015 I have realized numerous personal and professional relationships He set up years back which will prove to be all apart of His plan.

Even the training He set me up for when I was 12 years old…. some 28 years ago… is now being recognized as needed for this new job. I’m still working through the book of Nehemiah and I’m finding the patterns to be very recognizable. I’ll post more about that as the year progresses.

My prayer for the year is for God to continue to reveal His plan to me and to continue to overwhelm me with it…. I don’t want to stop looking for Him to do the work. I am nothing and He is everything. He takes my limits and turns them into AMAZING!!!

If you are in my area and wish to join me on this adventure, we need to connect. I believe He has an even bigger plan than what the hospital and school have asked for me to accomplish. Lives (both patient, and clinician) will be changed… not just health but personal. I was once introduced to the real reason we are on this earth… to bring God’s Dominion to the physical world. It is His will to have authority over the physical through us. Furthermore, it is not the purpose of the Church to suck people into it… It is the purpose of the Christian to take the church into the work place. This is a delicate topic but I believe that is what I’ve been doing for the last 10 years, and I’m loving it…

Pray and Fast ~ FIRST

So my life has taken another twist. I recently resigned my position and accepted another. Now I’m going through another process… another God process. My son triggered the reading and God revealed His wisdom. Amazing!!! If you are interested, take a moment to read Nehemiah 1. Below is the key versus God has put on my heart.

Nehemiah 1:4 (AMP)

Now it came about when I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying [constantly] before the God of heaven.

What were the words? The message was given to Nehemiah that the remaining Jews who had escaped back to Jerusalem were in distress, in a city that is not secure and without the ability to be secured. This distressed Nehemiah sending him into a state of prayer and fasting before God. He was asking God to hear the cry of the people and to provide assistance in rebuilding the city.

I know we will see as the story progresses but the message God gave me here is that as I move forward into this new area of my life, I need to recognize that there is a need and He is the solution. I need to spend time in dedicated prayer and fasting asking God to reveal His perfect will and wisdom for me. If I am to serve as the solution or to open the door for the solution, I need to work as Nehemiah, first seek God’s plan and be ready to serve as the solution.

We shall see as God takes me on this journey…. First PRAY and FAST.
